In How It Began, Water Balloon correctly guessed that Megaphone had gathered the contestants together because he was hosting an object show. Later, when Music Note picked Water Balloon's name from the ball pit, Pie got nervous because she doesn't get along well with Water Balloon. Fortunately for her, she got picked as the other team captain. When choosing teams, Water Balloon chose Soccer Ball, Beach Ball, Rake, Horn, Pipey, Music Note, Flight Helmet, Stethoscope, and Baskety. He then named his team the Squeezy Foxes.
During the contest, he was the third member of the Foxes to make it across the river. His team eventually won, putting the Floppy Rabbits up for elimination. As a team captain, he will have immunity until the contestants reach the island of Objectoo.
